KPV 10mg
KPV is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of Lysine–Proline–Valine. It’s derived from the C-terminal end of the alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) and is known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and skin-healing properties.
Scientific Details:
Full name: L-Lysyl-L-prolyl-L-valine
CAS number: 3061-91-6
Molecular formula: C₁₆H₂₉N₃O₄
Molecular weight: ~327.42 g/mol
Mechanism of Action:
KPV works by modulating the immune response — specifically, it can inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6, while also helping to restore the integrity of the skin and gut barrier. It’s believed to act through the melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) pathway, which regulates inflammation and healing.
KPV is being studied in dermatology, wound care, and inflammatory bowel conditions. It’s often used in topical creams, serums, or injectable research formulations.
- Skin repair: Promotes healing in conditions such as acne, eczema, and dermatitis.
- Anti-inflammatory: Reduces systemic inflammation and may support recovery after injury.
- Antimicrobial: Demonstrates activity against bacteria and pathogens without harming beneficial cells.
- Gut protection: Supports intestinal barrier function and reduces inflammation in the gut lining.
